Linear Static Stress Analysis of a Telemark Ski Binding
Components of the award-winning "TARGA Ascent" telemark ski binding were analyzed by G3 Genuine Guide Gear, Inc. Here, separate linear static stress analyses of one subassembly and seven individual parts can be seen. Using ALGOR, the engineers were able to optimize the design and reduce prototyping requirements, resulting in significant cost savings and a shorter time to market.

Linear Static Stress Analysis of a Pillow Block & Roller
ALGOR DesignCheck Professional was used to analyze the displacement and stresses of this pillow block and roller. The assembly was modeled using half-symmetry with surface contact specified between the bearing and pillow block housing. A large upward force was applied along the bottom of the roller. Rocking of the spherically mounted bearing, due to shaft deflection, is apparent in the animated results.

Linear Static Stress Analysis of an Axle Housing
Using SolidWorks and ALGOR, Engineer Rene Suazo of MARCO Mining verified that the cause of a failure in the axle housing of a mining truck was due to very high stresses caused by torsional loads. The resulting design enhancements spared the client future injuries to drivers, saved down time and avoided the enormous cost of a new truck fleet.
